Inspector

Job description

Working within the company’s South Site as a member of the Aerospace Inspection team, this role requires good all-round understanding of aerospace quality system requirements and inspection and test methods and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Product verification, inspection and test at receipt, in-process and final stages of manufacture.
  • Verification of tooling and fixturing.
  • Verification of all required documentation supporting the manufacture of product.
  • Source Release of completed product (with appropriate authorisation). Existing AS13001 DPRV Qualification preferred.
  • Programming and use of CMMs (with appropriate training)
  • Programming and use of CNC part marking machines (with appropriate training)
  • Participate in corrective action or improvement teams.
  • Interaction with internal and external customers and suppliers either directly or through dedicated portals
  • Maintain appropriate approvals and qualifications through training both on-site and off-site as required.
  • Perform OVP audits with manufacturing staff.
  • Ensure that finished product leaving the company fully meets the requirements of the customer. This includes design characteristics and full, documented manufacturing history.
  • Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System accredited to AS9100

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability to identify and clearly define any breaches in customer expectations and requirements.
  • Experience in an aerospace inspection environment is advantageous.
  • Must meet the minimum vision standards as defined for the role.
  • Familiarity with, or the aptitude to learn, the use of a wide variety of inspection and test equipment, with appropriate training.
  • Ability to comprehend technical drawings and specifications as required.
  • IT literate in standard software packages.

Further Information

  • Starting from £17.00 per hour, depending on experience + overtime when available
  • The position is based on 39 hrs per week, Monday to Thursday 07:30 – 16:30 / Friday 07:30 – 12:30 (flexibility may be required during busier periods).
  • This is a permanent position that will be subject to a 26-week review period
