Job description

Working as a member of the Final Inspection Department, this role is responsible for final acceptance for 100% of finished parts whilst maintaining the high standards of product quality.

Objectives:

  • Ensure that finished product leaving the company fully meets the requirements of the customer. This includes design characteristics and full, documented manufacturing history.
  • Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System accredited to AS9100

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Dimensional check parts in a clean and bright modern factory environment
  • Inspecting and record findings mid process production parts, creating non-conformance reports, and/or correcting form where required.
  • Visual check for any damage and imperfections
  • Ensure relevant PPE is worn adhering to the Health & Safety guidance and procedures.
  • Ensure 6S practices are followed.
  • Working to customer & internal specifications
  • Completing documentation and quality records
  • Report any quality issues to the Supervisor or Chief Inspector
  • Willingness to complete training courses and examinations
  • Manually dress parts if imperfections are assessed to be reworkable
  • Clean and work in a very tidy manner and maintain the high standards within the working environment
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of the business

Other duties may include:

  • Releasing parts to customers as a designated quality representative (only after a successful training and examination program)
  • Part Marking, Packaging, Cleaning and General housekeeping.
  • An approach to work which seeks Continuous Improvement in all activities

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability to identify and clearly define any breaches in customer expectations and requirements.
  • Experience in an aerospace inspection environment is advantageous.
  • Must meet the minimum vision standards as defined for the role.
  • Familiarity with, or the aptitude to learn, the use of a wide variety of inspection and test equipment, with appropriate training.
  • Ability to comprehend technical drawings and specifications as required.
  • IT literate in standard software packages.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Quality and Production teams
  • Ability to handle and take care of the delicate precision engineered parts
